Dragon Boat Race held in Batam in 2010

Batam City Government held the International Sea Eagle Boat Race 2010 or an international dragon boat race in the waters of District Rear Padang, Batam, 2 to 4 July 2010. The annual event is the seventh time since first held in 2004.

Chief Executive of the Executive Committee, the Sea Eagle Boat Race 2010, Buralimar, Thursday (07/01/2010), said, preparations have been done their best. In general, the activities will be implemented according to plan and agenda.
The participants who took part are 45 teams consisting of 30 local teams and 15 teams overseas. Each team consists of 15 people, including a Tekong, twelve rower, and two rower reserves.

Preliminary round will be held 2 to 3 July. While the semi-finals and finals were held on the last day, July 4. The length of the track as far as 600 yards away-home.

In addition to the rowing events, the organizers will also hold exhibitions small and medium enterprises as well as typical Melayu food, folk games activities, and entertainment stage. The committee will also be showing off the ship Ceng Ho.

Batam Mayor Ahmad Dahlan said the race is expected not only as a sporting event but also a means of promotion, creation, and appreciation of coastal communities in support of Last Visit Batam Padang in 2010. In fact, the event is called the root event Visit Batam 2010. Local and foreign tourists are expected netted through the event.

Teams from Malaysia, during the technical meeting, requested that the committee prepare the dressing room and clean water. The reason, teams from Malaysia was forced to ride in one of the houses to the locker room.

Sea Eagle Boat Race 2010 trophy gaining innings, trophies and equipment, a plaque of appreciation, and cash worth a total Rp. 45 million. The details, the champion I got Rp. 15 million, winner gets Rp 13 million, II, III gets Rp 10 million, and IV champion got Rp 8 million.

In 2009 and 2008, I won the team championship Kepri. While in 2007 and 2006, I won the champion Red Bataqm team. In 2005 and 2004, each winner won First Team and Team Cape Gundap Lengkang Batam
